Our Survey Results

Over the course of 2010, the foundation was able to have 10 Mikey’s Way Days. During these events, we met with over 300 children and their parents. As part of our “need to know” philosophy, we surveyed the parents asking them to tell us the effects a Mikey’s Way gift had on their child.

The results were impressive and over 100 parents responded:

1. Patients Sex: Male – 40%, Female – 60%
2. 80% report less severe side effects for their child after receiving a Mikey’s Way gift.
3. 93% report that after one week their child is engaged with the Mikey’s Way gift for at least 3-5 hours a day.
4. That number drops slightly to 85% after 30 days, clearly demonstrating that receiving a Mikey’s Way gift has a lasting impact on the child.
5. 85% of respondents claim the Mikey’s Way gift keeps their child’s mind diverted from their treatment.
6. As a bonus, 100% of the parents said that the gift to their child has been helpful to the parent as well. A happier child equals a more relaxed parent!

We at the foundation are thrilled to see the positive impact these gifts have on the children and their families. This drives us to continue our mission of providing a connection to the outside world to as many children as we can.
