A LETTER FROM MIKEY’S DAD
Dear Friends:
In 2004, my son, Mikey Friedman, age 15, was diagnosed with
a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer. His life was a
never-ending series of hospital stays, chemotherapy treatments
and surgeries.
When approached by the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Mikey
chose a shopping spree – but not for himself. Instead, he
bought interactive, handheld video games and toys for other
kids. He knew first hand the boredom and anxiety associated
with debilitating chemotherapy treatments. He was determined
to help. From these extraordinary beginnings, the Mikey’s Way
Foundation was born.
Through the generosity of our donors we have been able to
establish “Mikey’s Way Days” at hospitals across the country.
Our “Mikey’s Way Days” have allowed us to give hundreds of
IPODs, PSPs, portable DVD players and laptops to pediatric
cancer patients. Even the seriously ill newborn receives a
comforting fetal heartbeat teddy bear.
Tragically, Mikey lost his battle with cancer in 2008, leaving us
with his vision and commitment to Mikey’s Way.
Won’t you help us commemorate his birthday on March 27th?
Please donate.
Help us do this...Mikey’s Way.
Les Friedman
CEO, Mikey’s Way Foundation (and Mikey’s Dad)
